Jerome Irving RODALE

Jerome Irving Rodale (1898–1971) was a playwright, editor, author and publisher. He advocated a return to sustainable agriculture and organic farming in the United States. He founded a publishing empire, producing several magazines and many books on health, wellness, farming and a wide variety of other topics. Rodale popularized the term "organic" to mean grown without pesticides.

Inspired by his father Jerome Irving, Robert Rodale founded the Rodale Institute, an experimental organic research farm in the eastern U.S..
