With a professional background in environmental science and a decade of hands-on experience working with farmers, Zhou Zejiang has served the organic movement in China, Asia and other parts of the world for 25 years.
Zhou Zejiang, whose friends call him ZZ or Uncle Joe, is a pioneer of the Chinese organic movement, one of the first organic inspectors in the country and a well regarded researcher. He has also been deeply involved in promoting Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) and Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS).
Zhou Zejiang has supported IFOAM activities for years, as an official Representative to Asia, member of the IFOAM Development Committee and as the coordinator of numerous regional IFOAM projects, including the Organic Tea project (with FAO) and the Global Organic Market Access (GOMA) project (with FAO/UNCTAD). He is currently the Vice President of IFOAM Asia and joined the IFOAM World Board in 2014.
