Organic Agriculture owes its continued existence to the hard work and perseverance of a few progressive minds, able to see beyond the hype of conventional farming practices. These progressive thinkers helped us save many traditional sustainable practices, look critically at industrial agricultural systems, while at the same time developing new sustainable agriculture technologies.

The National Agricultural Library conducted oral history interviews with eleven people who provided leadership and inspiration in the field of alternative or sustainable agriculture. They are in the process of converting these to digital format. Three have been completed and are available online:
