9th Ecology Izmir Organic Products Fair
Everything is organic at this fair
The Ecology Izmir Fair will take place at fuarizmir through the dates of 9-12 May, 2018. The fair which will bring together the sector representatives will attract the attention of the world through a wide variety of organic products, an organic fashion show and an ecological playground.
The 9th Ecology Izmir Fair; will be undertaken by Izmir Fair Services, Cultural and Art Affairs (İZFAŞ) between the dates of 9-12 May through the support of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and cooperation with the Association for Ecological Agriculture Organizations (ETO). The 9th Ecology Izmir Fair together with its certified organic products, control and certification organizations, various activities with the organic sector stakeholders is expected to attract a lot of attention as a result of its wide product range.
Pleasant and healthy
Many new features will meet with the visitors at the 9th Ecology Fair. Participating companies will have an opportunity to exhibit the organic products and special designs they have produced at the ECOLOGY Izmir which will take place in Hall A of Fuarizmir. Visitors will have an opportunity to taste and purchase certified organic products at the Organic Living Space that will be established. The fair which will feature a sales area, an organic cafeteria, an Ecological Children's Play Area, will also have an organic restaurant area and a section with packaged organic goods. These areas will offer the opportunity to spend a pleasant and delicious time.
Another important event at the fair will be the 'Organic Fashion Show". During the program which will take place under the scope of the fair for the first time in Turkey, participating companies will exhibit their outfits which they have designed from organic materials. The outfits that have been produced will be introduced by models on the runway.
They will meet at the roundtable meeting
Through the cooperation of one of the largest supporters of the production and use of organic cotton in the world, Textile Exchange (TE) and İZFAŞ, the "Regional Organic Cotton Round Table Meeting" which took place at fuarizmir for the first time in the world in 2017 will take place again this year. Last year at the meeting which was attended by approximately 150 sector representatives including foreign brand representatives from Germany, Denmark, France, Ghana, the Republic of South Africa, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria and Pakistan, issues faced in supporting the production and consumption of organic cotton, as well as problems experienced in organic production and the use of Genetically Modified Organisms were examined. This year the meeting which will be held on May 11th as a part of the fair will feature representatives from companies such as Stella Mc C., Tchibo, Nudie Jeans, Dibella, Lindex, Hugo Boss, H & M. Brands which are at the forefront of the textile supply chain. At the conference they will get an opportunity to meet with retailers that undertake production in Turkey as well as other producer stakeholders.
Organic food will be discussed
In cooperation with Bio Foundation / Switzerland, important companies from the organic sector in Europe will meet at fuarizmir on May 10th. The Regional Organic Trade and Marketing Platform which will continue throughout the day will evaluate the legal requirements for trade with Europe and America, Germany's retail market, ethical and fair trade as well as the retail and export sectors in Turkey at the Congress entitled, "Creating a bridge between organic production and the consumer markets". Fuarizmir will also serve as a meeting point for producers of regional organic products from abroad.
Bilateral talks will be held
Participants, industry representatives, entrepreneurs and visitors will have the chance of conducting one-on-one meetings at the fair. In this context, the meetings to be held are expected to contribute to the relevant sectors of the fair and is aimed at increasing the trade potential.
Growth to continue this year
An ecology forest is also being established under the scope of the fair together with the trees planted at the 20 thousand square meters of land at Kadifekale in 2015 with an addition of 740 pine trees planted in 2016 at the 20 thousand square meters of land in Evka7. The exhibition area for the fair has been expanded to 5 thousand square meters with 250 pine trees being planted on behalf of the visitors and participants. Trees will continue to be planted this year under the scope of the fair.
9th ECOLOGY Izmir will feature product groups including organic foods, organic outfits, organic baby products, textiles, organic personal care and cleaning products, organic fertilizer, pesticides, traps, organic tourism and a variety of machinery.
