IFOAM and Ecocert sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Taiwan University

"Healthy agriculture for a healthy society, that is what we need"  said Dr. Pan-Chyr Yang, the president of NTU on addressing their development needs. The Council of Agriculture (the Ministry of Agriculture) confirmed that they want to triple the organic certified agriculture land by 2020. M. Arbenz, IFOAM Executive Director and M. Renaud, Ecocert confirmed  their commitment to supporting theses efforts with, for instance,  a regional Organic Leadership Course in the Mandarin language or an Organic Action Plan for the whole sector. Taiwan is also interested in gaining suppor for their negotiations to achieve EU equivalence of their organic regulations.
