We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sue Edwards.

Sue was Director of Institute for Sustainable Development and one of the founders of the African Biodiversity Network and the Ecological and Organic Agriculture Initiative, helping thousands of farmers learn agroecological techniques.

A committed organic advocate and long-standing member of IFOAM - Organics International, she was also whole-heartedly committed to the well-being of her community and fought tirelessly for women and youth rights and opportunities.

Only a few months ago she was awarded with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for her and Dr. Tewolde Berhan's outstanding contributions to a better world.

With an immense body of work, she leaves behind an indelible mark in the fields of agroecology and sustainable development. Among those who knew her, she leaves fond memories of a kind and caring soul, someone who “knew a lot and shared a lot”. The world is poorer without her.
