IFOAM AgriBioMediterraneo

AgriBioMediterraneo (ABM) received recognition as an official IFOAM - Organics International regional group in 1997.

ABM now encompasses 146 IFOAM Affiliates from three continents and 16 Mediterranean countries: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Palestine, Portugal, Serbia & Montenegro, Slovenia, Spain, Tunisia, and Turkey.

This regional body connects organic agriculture with sustainable development and seeks to promote and disseminate information, knowledge, and expertise related to Mediterranean organic agriculture and sustainable food production.

ABM spearheads four main initiatives Mediterranean-specific organic initiatives that address: marketing, training, research and development, and standards and certification. Special emphasis is placed on developing local markets, regional standards, AgriBioTourisum as well as organic olive culture, viticulture, citrus and Mediterranean fruits, arable crops and livestock.
