Make your voice heard at the General Assembly
The online feedback period has concluded on 5 May, and the World Board is currently reviewing all comments. An updated General Assembly (GA) Report will be released in the coming weeks.
With the Extraordinary GA less than a month away, here are the essential steps you need to take to ensure your voice is heard.
1. Complete Your Voter Registration
To participate in the upcoming vote, you must either register as a voter for your organisation or assign a proxy.
- Check Your Inbox: Voting members will soon receive an email containing a dedicated voting registration code.
- Membership Fees: Please ensure your membership fees are paid in full; this is the final opportunity to settle dues to remain eligible for voting.
2. How to Register or Assign a Proxy
Visit the Member Area and use your registration code to:
- Register yourself as the primary voter for your organisation.
- Assign a Proxy: You may delegate your vote to another member by sharing your registration code with them. Note that a single proxy can hold a maximum of five votes, including their own.
3. Important Deadlines & Process
To accommodate members across different time zones and ensure clarity, all amendments to World Board motions must have been proposed during the feedback period. No motion amendments will be accepted during the Extraordinary GAs starting 1 June.
If you are unable to join us for the virtual Extraordinary General Assembly, you can still participate by delegating your vote through a proxy. Here’s how you can ensure your voice is heard:
In the first weeks of May, you will receive an email containing access to your unique voting code. This code will also be visible in the Member Area of the IFOAM website.
To register your vote:
-
Log in to the Member Area using your credentials.
-
Navigate to the "General Assembly" tab.
-
Go to the "Voter Registration" section.
-
Select the individual who will vote on behalf of your organisation from the drop-down menu. If the correct person is not listed, you can update the contact details in the Member Area.
If no one from your organisation is available to vote, you may delegate your vote by sharing your voting code with another IFOAM member who will vote on your behalf.
If you have agreed to vote on behalf of another organization:
-
Go to the "Vote as Proxy on Behalf of Another Organisation" section in the member area.
-
Enter the voting code provided by that organization.
-
Select your name from the drop-down menu next to the voting code field.
You can register to vote for up to five organisations as a proxy.
If you make an error or need to change your vote assignment, simply click "Unassign" next to the respective entry in the "Registered Votes" section. This will allow you to correct the information.
