Within the Regional Technical Platform for Family Farming framework, you are invited to participate in the "Dialogues of Knowledge and Practices in Family Farming".

The Regional Technical Platform for Family Farming is a global initiative facilitated by the FAO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean. Their aim is to create spaces for dialogue and the exchange of experiences that promote technical and institutional innovations to strengthen the family farming sector.
This edition, jointly organised with the Specialised Meeting on Family Farming of MERCOSUR (REAF), will have the central theme of "Agroecology and Family Farming."

In the first session, "Agroecology for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation and Environmental Agenda", the presentations will delve into agroecology's fundamental principles and practices and their relationship with climate change adaptation and mitigation. They will also identify the challenges and opportunities for promoting family farming and agroecology as critical strategies within the context of climate and environmental agendas. This session is scheduled for 29 September at 11.00 a.m., Santiago de Chile time.

Interested individuals can participate through Zoom by registering in advance, and simultaneous interpretation services in Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese will be provided. The recording of the session will be published on the website of the Regional Technical Platform for Family Farming.

In total, they have scheduled three sessions, each focusing on a distinct aspect:

    • Agroecology for climate change adaptation, mitigation, and environmental agenda 29 September, 11.00 a.m. Santiago de Chile time
    • Agroecology and institutionality: advances in public policies in MERCOSUR countries - 12 October, 11.00 a.m. Santiago de Chile time
    • Global experiences on agroecology - 31 October, 11.00 a.m. Santiago de Chile time
