Every two to three years, IFOAM - Organics International conducts a global survey of the latest data on PGS initiatives.
This information is visualised in the PGS map, giving a global overview of the number of producers involved and certified by their PGS, land under organic management, what organic standards and governance structures are applied, and details on each PGS initiative listed.
From the data collected in 2022, we estimate that there are at least...
- 323 PGS initiatives around the world, 62 of which are currently under development
- 1’417’522 producers involved in PGS initiatives,
- and among them 1’328’496 producers certified
The data is also published in the annual “World of Organic Agriculture”.
