Call for Applications - Organic Farming Innovation Award 2021
Every three years, IFOAM - Organics International, the South Korean Rural Development Administration, and IFOAM's Technology Innovation Platform join together to honour the most outstanding organic innovators with the Organic Farming Innovation Award (OFIA).
Due to the postponement of the Organic World Congress to 2021, the OFIA Award was also postponed to September 2021. Today we are pleased to relaunch the OFIA 2021 Call for Applications!
We call on the organic movement to bring our attention to the excellent work of organic innovators around the world! All applicants are welcome.
We are specifically looking for innovations that:
OFIA is awarded in two categories: the Grand Prize and the Science Prize. A committee will select one Grand Prize and one Science Prize winner based on the criteria of innovativeness, relevance, and impact potential.
Each winner will receive a monetary award (Grand Prize: $10,000 USD and Science Prize: $5,000 USD), and be invited to the 20th edition of the Organic World Congress (OWC 2021) to showcase their work! The next OFIA Ceremony will be held at the OWC 2021, scheduled for September 6-10, 2021 in Rennes, France. Participation in the OWC will be covered.

OFIA is an initiative of the Rural Development Administration (RDA) of the Republic of Korea. The organic movement's prize awarded to highlight organic innovations of scientists, extension agents, practitioners, OFIA seeks to contribute to solving problems and exploring the potential to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of organic farming.
OFIA highlights and incentivises exceptional innovations in organic farming. RDA, TIPI, and IFOAM - Organics International bestow the award on outstanding innovators every three years at the Organic World Congress.
In non-award years, OFIA pairs with a different host to organise a thematic-specific summit! We welcome expressions of interest, please send these to ofia@ifoam.bio.
