Closing the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables 2021!

IFOAM - Organics International was proud to be part of the activities of the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables (IYFV) 2021!  The activities organized were a great opportunity to talk about how organic can be part of the solution to protect our planet, our farmers, their families and their livelihood.

IFOAM - Organics International produced a short video, where we can hear the organic farmers; Sivaraman from India and Sylvia from Kenya, talking about their experiences of growing fruits and vegetables. This was organized, together with FAO, the successful Webinar “How to build sustainability and prosperity in Fruits and Vegetables food systems. Organic and agroecological growers tell their stories”, on 2 December 2021.

At the same time IFOAM - Organics International Ambassadors represented the organic movement at the highest IYFV2021 events. The former President, Andre Leu, was one of panelists at the Opening Ceremony and now Sylvia Kuria will address the audience at the Closing Ceremony that will be held online on 24 February 2022, 13:00 - 14:30 CET.
