The Fourth Plenary Assembly of the Global Soil Partnership (GSP) endorsed the Voluntary Guidelines on Sustainable Soil Management

The Open Ended Working Group on the Voluntary Guidelines for Sustainable Soil Management took place in Rome, at the FAO headquarters from the 11th to the 13th of April.

A series of workshops organised by the Madagascar Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in collaboration with SYMABIO, IFOAM - Organics International, and the Tranoben'ny Tantsaha Mpamokatra, allowed political and economic actors to collectively reflect on concrete actions proposed for the development of organic agriculture in Madagascar.

After a 10-year long process, the new EU Organic Regulation took effect on 1 January 2022. The basic Regulation (EU) 2018/848 was published in June 2018, while the secondary legislation was developed in the following 2.5 years, with the last secondary regulation published on the EU Official Journal on 29 December 2021.

The IFOAM - Organics International and IFOAM Asia virtually attended the 36th Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific (36th APRC) of FAO, that was held in a hybrid format. As some participants attended virtually, others attended in-person on invitation from the FAO and hosted in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 8 - 11 March 2022.
